Contract & Warranty

Health Guarantee

We have taken steps to ensure that your new puppy is healthy.  The health and well-being of your puppy is our main priority, and we take full advantage of the genetic health screenings available to us. Your puppy has been selectively bred for excellent quality, health, soundness, intelligence, and good temperament.

Presidio Bernedoodles guarantees that at the time of delivery, the dog is in good health. This warranty is valid  for 24 months from the date the dog is born, and is valid for the person/s listed only, and is not transferrable. The buyer has THREE (3) days from the time of receipt of the dog to have dog examined by a licensed veterinarian.  Health warranty includes hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, DM, EIC, PRA, vWD, and life altering genetic heart conditions.  Should any of the above genetic diseases listed be discovered during this time that will greatly shorten the life of, or greatly alter the quality of life of the dog, Presidio Bernedoodles will provide the buyer with a dog from another litter or refund the purchase price of the puppy.

Intestinal worms, including Giardia and Coccidia are not included in guarantee. This warranty does not include viral illnesses, infections, improper bites, hernias, shedding, hypoglycemia, or non-genetic conditions. If the dog is returned, it is at the buyers expense. Veterinary records must be provided to breeder if requesting a replacement/refund, and breeder reserves the right to a second opinion at our expense.

Just like a human being, a dog can be subject to many ailments in the course of their life. Only some of these ailments are genetic in origin. We strongly advise health insurance be purchased.

The puppy must be at all times in a protected environment (eg: not on a leash in a public place, until a full two weeks after the puppy’s third and final set of inoculations in order to make this guarantee valid.)

Puppy Care & Maintenance

The buyer agrees to maintain the dog in a humane environment, is fed high quality dog food and to properly train and care for the dog. Your puppy has been microchipped.  Under no circumstances shall Presidio Bernedoodles be liable to the buyer or to any third party for any consequential, incidental or special damages resulting from or in a manner related to the said dog.  Upon receipt of puppy, all veterinary care and associated costs are the sole and exclusive responsibility of the buyer.

It is very important to continue the vaccinations and deworming schedule for your puppy, as well as boosters.  The puppy will need follow-up vaccinations, deworming, flea control, rabies vaccination and heart worm prevention as recommended by your vet.   The buyer agrees to maintain this dog in good health, provide routine preventative healthcare including, but not limited to: inoculation, internal and external parasites,  and preventative medication.  Please note: the use of any flea, tick, or heart worm medication given orally or by injection, including, but not limited to: Trifexis, Comfortis, Nexgard, Sentinel, or Proheart  will void the health warranty.  The dog is to remain on high quality kibble.  If any of the above preventative care has not been provided, health warranty will be void.

Spay & Neutering

All dogs  are sold on a strict Spay Neuter Agreement with the Purchaser, to be completed by Purchaser by 12 months of dog’s age, if not done prior. If Purchaser does not provide proof of desexing from a licensed veterinarian by 12 months of age, regardless of whether this agreement has been signed and returned by Purchaser, then Purchaser assumes costs of a Breeder Dog which is $10,000. These fees are due to Breeder immediately. Further, no health guarantee will stand in effect if the dog is not desexed and/or no proof provided of such by the 12 month time period.

Size/Coat/Texture

It is challenging to guarantee the eventual weight or overall size of dog or changes in coat color and texture because of the combined-breed nature of doodles, but will represent the puppy to the best of our ability.

Right of Recovery/Placement

In the event that Purchaser is unable to keep the dog or provide an appropriate home in accordance with this agreement, the dog will need to be rehomed ONLY to a home approved by Breeder, and/or Breeder MAY agree to assist in rehoming dog. Purchaser agrees to notify Breeder if any such contingency arises and will not abandon the dog to a shelter or sell or give the dog away. Purchaser may not sell dog, under any circumstances, without first consulting with Breeder, and obtaining approval of any sale resulting from such planned rehoming. If purchaser sells an unaltered dog, then purchaser assumes cost of breeding dog, and these fees are due immediately.

Purchaser assumes agreement to all terms and conditions of this agreement when reserving a puppy, and taking possession of dog.

This contractual agreement is made, executed and will remain in the jurisdiction of the state of California.
